Yeah, gonna try and do a fanart for some of my favorite once a day for a week.

This hits really hard for me because I was a bullying victim and I didn’t have many friends for longer than I’d like to admit
This is an issue that I believe is enormous in scale, and should be treated with far more urgency than it is, and I would hope that all my followers agree

i myself wasn’t bullied (not overly so anyway)
but i about it from my brother every school day.
he’s actually told my mother a handful of times before he’d be better off dead.even though my brother can be a bit nosy, i couldn’t live without him.

Reblogging because I dealt with assholes like the ones depicted here all throughout elementary and Junior high school. It’s a real problem and needs to be fought.
I may have teased some kids myself at school, but I never, I mean NEVER did anything like what was shown here. I knew when it went beyond just fooling around. There’s a big difference between snarky remarks/being a smartass and being just downright cruel.
The attitude schools take towards bullying is just absolutely wrong. I’ve heard nothing but horror stories of teachers doing nothing, saying ‘kids will be kids, it’s harmless’, pitting the blame on the victims, telling kids ‘just ignore it’ ‘just say no’… And it doesn’t work.
It has NEVER worked. It didn’t work when 30 kids trapped me under the stairs in elementary to throw rocks at me. It didn’t work when I received hate letters in my valentines box. It didn’t work when bullies lied to parents about me and had even the adults shunning me. It didn’t work when I was almost pushed into the street by a kid at my bus stop.
It’s not going to ever work if schools continue to act like this shit is okay and is just a normal part of life.

I apologize, but that was a little necessary.
Fisher, you also nailed it right on the head. One big reason I started that was to try and make that particular pony popular. I really dug his design when I first saw him in the episode. He(at the time) only shared a body type with Mr.Cake, and even then Shaker was a bit taller and a bit more slender then he is. I am also a GIANT sucker for giant mustaches and monocles, so when I saw he had both I was sold. During the beginning of season two, I still noticed a distinct lack of fanart for this pony.
No, I said. This will not do.
Unfortunatley, college and wanting to keep up on episode arts prevented me from updating as much as i wanted to. But now that both of those are over, I plan on trying to update at least every other day if not every day this summer.
And thanks again fisher for featuring my ask blog in this, it really means a lot to me.
